FIRST PROJECT
The first project of Spaxton Community Land Trust (SCLT) is to provide affordable housing for people with a strong local connection to the village. The community will be consulted to ensure the appropriate housing needs are fulfilled.
Your support is key to the success of SCLT.
1) To help shape housing plans to meet community needs and define selection criteria. (The Housing Needs Survey is an important part of this)
2) To give SCLT added authority when dealing with other organisations.
Show your support and get involved

Purchase a minimum of one £1 share.

Please note that the minimum age requirement for membership is 16 years.
Attend the open section of the board meeting and ask any questions you have .
At the moment Covid-19 means virtual meetings are needed but physical CLT board meetings are usually held at 7PM on the third Wednesday of the month in the Spaxton Village Hall Pavilion . The first section of that meeting is open to the general public who can ask questions or share their thoughts with the board members. Email [email protected] with any item you would like to raise and to let us know if you would like to attend. We can then confirm the meeting is indeed being held, arrange for a Zoom link to be sent to you for any online meeting and ask the Chairman to allow time for your item.
AFFORDABLE HOUSINGH PROJECT
Thank you to everyone who attended the Spaxton Community Land Trust Open Day Public Consultation held on the 25th January.
We received well over 100 surveys and 2 of the sites are being taken forward to the next stage. The 2 sites are
Site 11 (North of the High Street)Site 2 ( North West of the Allotments)
The next steps are for an up to date assessment of the village housing needs to be obtained via a HOUSING NEEDS SURVEY and for initial discussions to be held with Housing Associations. The Housing Needs Survey has been completed and a big thank you to everyone who participated.
HOUSING NEEDS SURVEY
Spaxton Community Land Trust (SCLT) is working to deliver an affordable housing project in the village. The aim is to offer homes to those with strong connections to the village but who cannot find suitable housing at an affordable price.
Following the Community Consultation in January, SCLT identified sites that may be suitable for development in Spaxton. We now want to improve our understanding of the village’s current unmet need by conducting a Housing Needs Survey. This will help us to decide the numbers, types and sizes of homes to include in the project.
A copy of the survey has been sent to all Spaxton households and approaching completed 200 surveys have been returned. These are now being analysed.

We are now part of the Community Led Homes Start Up Support Programme.
The Community Led Homes Start Up Support Programme aims to help groups of local people to develop their own community led housing solutions.
